On August 29, we gathered at Captain’s Inn to stand together as a community for those navigating the challenges of dementia. It was a day dedicated to connection, awareness, and our shared commitment to supporting caregivers.

Dementia caregiving, at its core, is one human being choosing every single day to show up for another human being who can no longer fully care for themselves or navigate the world on their own. This event was a testament to that commitment and a space for us to stand together as a community.

It was deeply meaningful to have my mom, her aide, and so many family and friends there with us. Their presence reminded us all of the very heart of this mission. We were also honored to have a representative from Ocean County Senior Services join us to provide vital information. We were equally grateful for the presence of Bobbi Jo Crea and Peter Curatolo—both former Mayors and current committee members—and Stephanie from the Southern Ocean Times. Their support helped strengthen the community networks we are building.
